Miniature gold plated components were developed to make this structure that contains over 3500 parts. Symmetry and repetition play a vital role in determining the form that comes from a 19th century Chinese vase. However a sense of human presence is given to the structure as components brake through the surface and diagonals are added for strength. Water is placed in a small glass container that sits at the foot of the vase.
