Public art, for a new promenade development at Colwyn Bay, Through RKL Consultants.
Freshwest were commission to design and deliver a two dimensional art intervention to enhance a 200m long stretch of sea defense wall. The artwork consisted of approximately two hundred small laser-cut silhouetted figures and their shadows attached along a recess in the wall. For five months Freshwest collected hundreds of photographs of people on the beach near the site of the artwork. Freshwest then transformed a selection of these images into the laser-cut silhouettes to create a panoramic snap shot of Colwyn Bay’s beach life.
